Growing up I always equated chai with being an "adult" drink. Sometimes I was curious and took a lil sip from my parent's cups (after they blew on it to make sure it wasn't too hot for me ofcourse) but the taste never really appealed to me...Though I did always insist on having a little bowl of chai just to dip my Parle-G biscuit in.

Once at the Gurudwara last winter, I decided to give Chai another chance. You know, forgiveness and second chances, and open mindedness and all that. Plus, it was absolutely freezing outside and I just needed something to warm me up. To my surprise, I LOVED it and finished 3 whole cups... and lets just say ever since that day I have been obsessed...

Uh oh...does this mean I am... an adult... now?

This obsession with chai then took another turn when I transitioned to ordering Iced-Chais at cafes. It became one of my ultimate go-to drinks. Being home in quarantine I yearned for that feeling of sipping on an Iced-Chai in a cute cafe, listening to my favorite indie playlist, and typing away on my laptop. I tried recreating this Iced Chai at home with my mom's masalas and let me tell you...

I don't think I will ever order an overpriced Iced Chai from a cafe again...well... maybe just for the aesthetic once in a while :P

I love making a large quantity of this chai on the weekend and then having it cooled and ready for me to start my weekday mornings with. Meal prepping is one of my favorite things in the world because it makes life so much easier when living on a busy schedule. I guess drink prepping also falls under the category now!

Try out this recipe for a delicious better than your overpriced cafe Iced Chai :)

P.S. check out my video tutorial that took me a bit too long to make... technology and me aren't the bestest of friends... .... yet :P
