Sanya Ailani

Hi friends and welcome to Savor with Sanya 

 

I’ve always loved food- whether it be trying new cuisines or running my own science experiments in the kitchen. Towards the end of high school I developed an unhealthy relationship with food and used it to cope with other things in my life that weren’t going all too well. ⁣


Entering college, I wanted to regain control over my lifestyle and started with cooking for myself. I found a great deal of satisfaction in developing healthy recipes and seeing my mental and physical health both improve with the changes I was implementing. In addition to the nutritional aspect of cooking, it has a therapeutic effect for me, allowing me to be both creative and precise in the same task. ⁣

 

I began to consciously practice gratitude and mindfulness, encouraging myself to truly savor each moment I experienced. After endless time not being able to truly recognize who I was as an individual, I finally feel connected with myself. I am more me than ever. There are still high tides and low tides. There are days when the waves that I once drowned in, come tumbling back to shore. But now, I am prepared for them, and I cherish them as much as I do the more serene ocean days...with the faith that better times will come. 

Through Savor with Sanya , I plan to share parts of my own journey that I hope will inspire, motivate, and challenge you all along your individual beautiful journeys!
